Reused Wood Principles

The core principles are not just a procedure or a checklist, it is a fundamental way of thinking Reused Wood Packaging from product development and design to usage and re-usage:

NEVER CREATE SOMETHING NEW, IF YOU CAN REUSE

The first and most fundamental principle is to never create new packaging, when you can reuse existing packaging. If you do not adhere to this, the positive effects can never and will never be as large as possible.

MINIMISE: PACK SMARTER, NOT HARDER

You can always add more packaging, but it will not do anything good for minimising usage of natural resources. Smart packaging is a knowledge to be developed and improved while still considering handling as well as personnel and product safety.

IF POSSIBLE, THINK OF REUSING THE REUSED

Personnel and product safety comes first, but smart developers of course think about how to reuse the reused. Wood is a strong material, that cannot just be reused once, so think how to reuse it again and again when developing products.

THINK ABOUT OTHERS: MAKE IT MANAGEABLE

The perfect wood packaging might be minimal and protective for both personnel and product, but is it manageable and easy to handle? If not, you will waste unnecessary resources and manhours on extra handling, equipment, and transport.

The idea of our concept

From one-time usage to countless re-usage of packaging is about seeing the opportunities:

Wood waste is a resource, that can be reused
If you do not reuse your wood waste, then contact us and have us look at the possibilities. Other options exist besides colleting it and incinerating it.
If you manufacture wood packaging yourself, then consider being part of something bigger. Contact us to learn more about the Reused Wood Packaging concept.

We are in it together
CO2 is a world-wide issue, that everybody should be concerned about and proactively work to do something about. We do too. And by being in it together, we can share knowledge, experience, and ideas for a better World.

We want to change an industry
We want to prove that quality does not equal new materials, and we want to prove, that we can meet customer needs and satisfaction while still being environmentally friendly. And we want to change our own industry while doing so with the goal of creating balance between exploiting and protecting natural resources.

Rules to live by

Standards like ISPM 15 and FSC are still valid, and most countries have legislations, that set requirements for use of wood. That combined with the possibilities in Reused Wood Packaging makes it important for packaging manufacturers to have much knowledge about all aspects of wood packaging, so that you know when and how to use and reuse.

This website will continuously be improved and expanded with knowledge and information relevant to the concept. Until then please contact us, if you want to know more about the concept, teach your employees in the principles or reduce your CO2 footprint on packaging.

We can help you reduce your CO2 footprint too! Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you:
